Our origins
MindfulU Institute began as a small cooperative of clinicians, educators, and testing psychologists who shared a common concern: the growing erosion of depth, rigor, and developmental thinking in psychological and educational evaluation.
Across clinical, school, and private practice settings, we saw the same patterns repeated. Abbreviated processes. Overreliance on checklists. Training pathways that emphasized speed or access over judgment and accuracy. Professionals were being asked to do complex work with less preparation, less support, and fewer opportunities to learn how to reason carefully through differential diagnosis.
We began by teaching one another, then teaching colleagues. Over time, it became clear that what was needed was not another course, but a structured, standards-driven training institute committed to improving the quality of assessment itself.
Today, MindfulU Institute is a formal, internationally accredited professional education provider functioning as a specialist unit within a larger higher education entity. We offer advanced training, certification pathways, and workforce development programs across clinical, educational, and global contexts.

MindfulU Institute serves professionals who want more than required learning. Our programs focus on assessment, neurodevelopment, giftedness, learning differences, and cognitive remediation. We offer continuing education, CPD, and approved postgraduate-level training supported by live faculty engagement, academic advising, and clearly structured learning pathways. Our work is designed to deepen understanding, refine judgment, and strengthen practice over time.
What we offer
Advanced assessment training
We offer comprehensive education across ADHD, autism, neurodevelopmental, employment, and related assessment domains through curriculum developed by assessment psychologists. We strengthen differential diagnosis and interpretive reasoning. We do not teach abbreviated or simplified models of assessment. We teach clinicians how to reason carefully, integrate data responsibly, and conduct robust evaluations that hold up clinically and ethically.
Certification pathways
Our comprehensive neurodevelopmental assessment program includes a formal certification pathway requiring portfolio submission and graded faculty feedback. Certification is earned through demonstrated competence, not attendance alone.
Workforce development for clinics
MindfulU supports busy assessment practices by providing comprehensive psychometrist training that meets and exceeds national board examination standards. These programs offer clinics a structured, ethical alternative to informal shadowing and inconsistent delegation. Psychometrists trained through MindfulU are prepared to contribute accurately and professionally across the full evaluation workflow, improving efficiency without compromising quality.
Workforce development for districts
We work directly with school districts and charter schools facing critical shortages of school psychologists. MindfulU provides in-district training for school-employed staff to function as trained psychometry supports under appropriate supervision. These workforce programs include coordinated planning with district leadership, live training, and school-year implementation support so districts can maintain continuity, compliance, and internal capacity rather than relying solely on external contractors
Who we serve
MindfulU serves LCSWs, MFTs, LPCs, psychologists, pediatric, family, and psychiatric nurse practitioners, educators, and coaches. Some programs are open broadly, while others are restricted to licensed or regulated professionals due to scope and standards.
Across offerings, our learners share a commitment to improving care in their communities, diversifying their professional work responsibly, and engaging in training that is both accessible and serious.

How our programs are built
MindfulU is an international cooperative of clinicians, testing psychologists, special educators, and faculty educators. Our courses are developed in collaboration with instructional designers and built to support real skill acquisition, not passive consumption.
We offer continuing education through APA and ASWB approval, as well as CPD for UK and international professionals.
Neuroaffirming practice at MindfulU
At MindfulU Institute, neuroaffirming practice means improving access and equity by strengthening the quality of care itself. We view thorough, developmentally informed, and ethically sound assessment as a human right, not a luxury reserved for a few.
Expanding access does not require lowering standards. Equity depends on rigor. Individuals deserve evaluations that are careful, contextual, and grounded in sound clinical reasoning, not abbreviated processes or under-prepared practice. Neuroaffirming care, as we teach it, prioritizes accuracy, humility, and responsibility so that people are understood more precisely, not more loosely.
Our commitment is to widen access to high-quality training so professionals can serve their communities well without returning to formal university programs, while still receiving education that meets or exceeds the depth and supervision most clinicians report they received in graduate training. We believe this approach improves care, protects clients and systems, and supports clinicians in practicing with confidence and integrity.
